36 SEPTEMBER 2026 By Kylie de Best Do you ever feel burnt out by fad workouts that fail to give you consistent results? Or are you wanting to get into a workout routine and aren’t sure where to start? Well, fellow Arcadians, just a few months ago I was in the same exact situation, until I went to Pvolve at Scottsdale Waterfront. Pvolve stands for personal evolution. It’s a science-led fitness method that focuses on strength, stability and mobility. This is done through low- impact, high resistance workouts that are designed to “break a sweat, not your body” – or so their slogan says. The first studio opened in November 2017 in New York. Now, there’s 50 locations. Right when you walk in, you are greeted with a smile by the instructors and co-owners. After you check in, you open the door and enter a room full of energy and upbeat music, the genre changing depending on the instructor. Each attendee will start at their precision mat, which has numbers and dots on it to guide where to step or do different movements. A warmup kicks off the class – the instructor will explain the movements that will later be used with the equipment. Each class is 50 minutes, with three rounds of exercises where you’re standing up and one round of exercises where you’re on the floor. Every class is different, so you will always have something new to look forward to. After your workout, you can freshen up in the beauty bar, which has skincare products available for use. The Scottsdale Waterfront studio offers signature sculpt and weight training classes. The sculpt class focuses on toned physique and improved longevity and the weight training classes aim to build muscle, support bone density, and improve metabolic health. The method utilizes 13 pieces of equipment, with different ones used for each workout. The P.ball, also known as “the ball that started it all,” is made with 35 pounds of resistance to work your thighs. The P.band works on postural muscles and is beneficial for tech neck or a strained neck – especially helpful for those who sit for long periods of time. Other equipment includes the heavy ankle band, gliders, and a slant board. Owners Jeanine Yonushonis and Whitney Goodwin opened the Scottsdale location in January. Jeanine has a background in advertising and marketing. Whitney’s background lies in accounting, operations and real estate investment. Both are passionate about fitness and passionate about Pvolve. “I first discovered Pvolve after seeing Jennifer Aniston using the same workout and shared it with Whitney, who has been my best friend for 15 years,” Jeanine said. “We fell in love with the workout, the brand and the opportunity to build something meaningful together.” There are currently four instructors, each offering valuable feedback during the workout while staying mindful of what your goals are and how you are progressing. There are three membership options, ranging from eight classes to unlimited. Members get special perks, such as out- of-studio events and classes. If you are looking to pop in and see how you like the method, they have an intro offer of three classes for $60. With the support from instructors and being surrounded by familiar faces at each class of regular members, my confidence in working out has really improved. pvolve.com Exercising to break a sweat, not your body PHOTOS COURTESY OF JEANINE YONUSHONIS Owners Whitney Goodwin and Jeanine Yonushonis.
